This online resource, from BRITE, tackles the subject of dyslexia in an informal but informative way. College students introduce the guide in a friendly and reassuring manner. They describe what the condition means to them, how it affects their experiences of learning and what helps them to cope with studying. The guide has been designed with further education in mind, but students in higher education and senior pupils in school are likely to find the resource useful as well.

If you have recently discovered that you have dyslexia, or you are helping someone else to come to terms with the diagnosis, you'll find common sense advice here. The resource is like a self-help guide, but you access it without wading through page after page of text! It contains good ideas about how to cope with studying, how to explain your dyslexia to others (including lecturers, fellow students and family) and how to make the best of your strengths.

You don't have to access the whole guide at once. Pick out the sections that interest you most, or go through it gradually - dipping in and out as often as you like.
